Jade Liska from the Aviation Department, gave a brief overview that this contract will provide for the removal and replacement of the 17 inch thick surface concrete pavement and all pavement layers underneath. This contract also includes airfield electrical and drainage improvements.

Moore and Associates, Inc., to Investigate Condition of Roof at KCI Airport; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $550,000.00; appropriating $550,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the KCI Overhaul Base Fund; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

Jade Liska from the Aviation Department, gave an overview that this amendment will complete the super hangar study and provide the resources to conduct evasive and non-evasive testing of structural members, evaluate roof drainage systems, perform a roof elevation survey, remove debris from the narrow body anchorages and to complete the report deliverable from the initial agreement.

Jade Liska from the Aviation Department testified that this authorizes a $1,802,281.00 amendment No.11 with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. Inc., to rehabilitate taxiway F at KCI airport. This rehabilitation is important for the airport to continue to operate in a manner that is safe and efficient for the traveling public.

Reducing and re-estimating revenue in the Capital Improvements Fund in the amount of $90,000.00; reducing previously appropriated funds of $575,250.00 in certain accounts of the Capital Improvements Fund; appropriating $812,411.98 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance in the Capital Improvements Fund to various projects; reducing previously appropriated amount of $49,765.32 from the 2011 GO Bond Fund and appropriating those funds to the Tiffany Springs Parkway Lighting Project; authorizing a contract with Mega Industries, Corp. for $1,548,973.00 for various projects; and recognizing an accelerated effective date.

Ralph Davis and Mario Vasquez, Public Works Department and Wes Minder, City Manager's Office gave a brief overview. This project replaces four foot wide sidewalks with eight to ten feet wide sidewalks along the south side of NW 64th Street. The project completes the southern platte pass trail, and removes concrete that will be utilized for the storm water improvements.

Authorizing condemnation and taking of private property interests for public use for street right of way purposes and for temporary construction easements for the construction, location and maintenance of Project No. 89008088 “Front Street, I-35 to Universal Avenue Improvements” from I-35, east, to Universal Avenue, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; providing for the payment of just compensation therefore; authorizing continued negotiations and purchase by the Director of the Department of Public Works; authorizing the filing of the petition for condemnation by the City Attorney on behalf of the City; and directing the City Clerk to cause this ordinance to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson County, Missouri.

Ralph Davis, Don Frank and Mario Vasquez, Public Works Department gave a brief overview that the private properties in this ordinance must be condemned for public use for street right of way and for temporary construction of easements required for the construction and maintenance of the Front Street, I-35 to Universal Avenue Improvements.

 1.There will be discussion on a proposed amendment to Ord. 180535.
 
 Councilman Jermaine Reed opened with discussions on agreed combined amendments. Dustin Johnson, from the City Attorney's Office and Phillip Yelder, from the Human Relations Department, gave an overview of the consensus issues between ordinance 180535 and 180536. The ordinances will be heard before council in Legislative Session at 3:00pm, October 11, 2018.
 
 2. There may be a general discussion regarding current Transportation and Infrastructure Committee issues.
