|Amending Chapter 56, Code of Ordinances, by adding Article VI, Registration of vacant properties and foreclosing properties.|
HOUSING COMMITTEE recommends "HOLD ON AGENDA (1/14/2009)"
Katie James, Law Department, explained the new article 6 that would require registration for owners as well as the definition of property owner, foreclosure and vacant property. Registration is due in April of each year. Councilman Ford, suggested that a clause be added to require tenant/occupant notification. David Park, NCS, stated that the April date was used to allow time for neighborhood groups and others to prepare for the changes.
| ||Jerome Robins, City Development will give a presentation of the HOPE for Homeowners Program.
Jerome Robins and Tom Coyle both testified regarding the program, assisting home owners in the danger of foreclosure or in foreclosure using alternative loans and counseling assistance. The Housing Committee may hold a Closed Session pursuant to Sections 610.021 (1), (2), (3), or (12) RSMo to discuss legal matters, real estate, personnel or sealed proposals.
