| 110792 (Sub.) | Estimating revenue in the General Fund in the amount of $160,000.00; reducing the Contingent Appropriation in the General Fund by $70,000.00; appropriating $230,000.00 to the Neighborhood and Community Services Department; authorizing the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services to execute a contract with Kansas City Pet Project for the operation of the animal shelter; and recognizing an emergency.
PUBLIC SAFETY & EMERGENCY SERVICES COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS AS A COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE, DEBATE" David Park, Neighborhood and Community Services, talked briefly about the meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and staff regarding partnering with various other agencies and individuals.
Councilwoman Marcason thanked everyone for their work at coming together to secure outside funds for the operation of the animal shelter. She wanted to make sure that this cooperation carried over into upcoming years as well.
Councilman Sharp and Councilwoman Circo also thanked all of those involved in making this compromise work for everyone involved.

Councilwoman Marcason stated that there would be a neighborhood leadership meeting on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Southeast Community Center to discuss the upcoming 2012-13 budget process. The public and neighborhood leaders were urged to attend.
Pursuant to the following subsections in 610.021 of the Revised Statues of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss:
Legal matters, litigation or privileged communication with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1;
Real Estate, pursuant to subsection 2;
Personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 & 13;
Sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12;
Negotiations with employee groups, pursuant to subsection 9.
The City Clerk's Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver's License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
