COMMUNICATION - Notice received from the Director of Public Works regarding Traffic Regulation Nos. 54217 through 54251, Removals and Installations.

CITY OPERATIONS COMMITTEE recommends "RECEIVED AND FILED"
Jere Meredith, Public Works Department, testified on behalf of this communication. This communication would authorize a ninety (90) trial for various traffic regulations scattered throughout the city. The only controversy would be the removal of a traffic signal located at 75th Street and Pennsylvania. This is what Public Works call a noncompliance M.U.T.C.D. That means that this street does not meet the requirements for signal installation because the cross street is stop control and the main street has a traffic signal. This signal was originally installed for pedestrians and they have now been reduced so the signal is no longer needed.

Authorizing a $10,267,294.88 contract with Loch Sand & Construction Company for Project No. D09 - Rehabilitate Apron C - Phase V at Kansas City International Airport; appropriating funds in the amount of $3,294,719.00; and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $11,294,718.89.

CITY OPERATIONS COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Doug Johnson, Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. Aviation Department has completed about seventy-five percent (75%) of the apron at KCI Airport. This ordinance would continue the reconstruction of the Apron at the airport. There were three bids on this project.
