AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance would authorize a leasehold ageement for 1000 square feet of space at the Downtown Airport located on the 2nd Floor. This space will provide classroom training for a private pilot school.

Authorizing a lease agreement with Global Enterprise Solutions, Inc., at the Kansas City International Airport for the Call Center Office Building located at 10801 Amity Road.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance would authorize a lease agreement for small consulting businesses. These are consulting businesses that have partnered together to provide customer support for their small business software applications and consulting services. These businesses would rent the parking lot as well as the existing facility. The total rent for the nine years will be slightly more that $2, 000,000.00.

Authorizing a $25,000.00 Amendment No. 1 to an Agreement with Valentine-McCormick-Ligibel, Inc., for Project No. C000215 - Advertising Agency Consulting Services for the Kansas City Aviation Department and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds for a total contract amount of $105,000.00.

Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. There is an existing contract with Valentine-McCormick-Ligibel, Inc. (V.M.L.) in the amount of $80,000.00. This ordinance would increase that amount by $25,000.00 for a total of $105,000.00. This amount would fund this years efforts by V.L.M. with respect to the Aviation Departments new logo. The work for the logo would include graphics support, creating electronic templates, providing design brochures for vendors, and update advertising.

Authorizing an Amendment No. 2 to the Fixed Base Operations Lease and Agreement (Contract No. C000441) with Southport Aviation, Inc., at Richards-Gebaur Airport extending through December 31, 1999, the City┬┤s prior agreement temporarily to hold in abeyance rent and to pay $64,000.00 in management and operating fees.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This is execution amendment #2 to the Southport Aviation lease agreement at Richards Gebaur Airport (RGA). The amendment will assist the department in acheiving an orderly transition in the shut down of operations and flying activities at the airport. The Aviation Department would like all flying operations to be completely shut down by the end of this current year. This ordinance would authorize payment in the amount of $16,000.00 per month from September-December 1999 to Southport Aviation. Mr. Widmar has asked that this ordinance be concidered an emergency.
