Authorizing a $731,068.00 Amendment No. 1 to an Agreement with Burns & McDonnell, Inc., for Project No. D17 - Apron Rehabilitation - Phases 6 and 7 at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $806,068.00.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department testified on behalf of this ordinance. This contract amendment would allow the Aviation Department to exercise its option to include construction management, materials testing and inspection services in phases six (6) and seven (7) of the apron rehabilitation project. The services are required by the FAA. All of the eligible cost will be reimbursed under the Airport Improvement Program and the Passenger Facility Charge Program.

Authorizing a $14,359,497.30 contract with James Cape & Sons for Project No. D17 - Apron Rehabilitation - Phases 6 and 7 at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $15,834,071.06.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance would allow the Aviation Department to execute a contract for the construction of the last to (2) phases of the rehabilitation program at the KCI Airport. The existing slabs have been in place for twenty-five (25) years. The apron levels have all been reconstructed and expanded. Additional parking areas have been created in Terminal B. The construction consist of the replacement and the removal of the existing concrete and the drainage that exist in those areas. There were two (2) bids for this project.
