Authorizing an $813,772.00 Design Professional Services Contract with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc., for the Water Main Replacements in the Area of Main Street from Pershing Avenue to E. 51st Street Project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.


TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Matt Bond, Kirk Rome and Kelly Finn from Water Services gave a brief overview of this contract with Burns and McDonnell Engineering Company for the replacement of 21,000 ft of new mains in the area of Main Street to Clever Blvd and between Pershing and 51st Street and will comply with the streetcar railway system extension. Citywide meetings with the community have been established. An electronic version of this presentation can be obtained from the City Clerk's Office.

Authorizing a $616,000.00 Design Professional Services Contract with CH2M Hill Engineers, Inc., for the Risk Based Asset Management for Water Plants and Facilities Project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.


TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Matt Bond, John Reddy, and Terry Leeds from Water Services testified that this project will have a design professional, perform an assessment of critical water plant and facility assets in order to provide a structured prioritization approach for subsequent asset management activities.

Estimating and appropriating revenues in the amount of $450,000.00 in the Capital Improvements Fund; authorizing a $2,169,203.00 construction contract with National Streetscape, Inc., for the construction of the Blue River Trail: Brush Creek to Stadium Drive (Segment B); designating requisitioning authority; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $2,387,000.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.


TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Matt Bond, Amy Bunnell and Tom Kyles testified this construction project will be performed to provide citizens recreational access to a bicycle trail along the Blue River and serve as an access point to the Blue River Channel for maintenance activities as required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This is in conjunction with the Blue River Channel Modification Flood Risk Management project.
