RESOLUTION - Directing the City Manager to enter into discussions regarding the utilization of the Country Club Right of Way for municipal purposes.

This Ordinance will direct the City Manager to enter into discussions of real estate of the Country Club Plaza Right A Way. The committee conveyed to a closed session for discussions.

Appropriating $2,489,385.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Fund; and authorizing a $2,489,385.00 Design Professional Services Contract with Peckham Guyton Albers & Viets, Inc., for the 18th Street Service Center Design Services project.

Appropriating $2,814,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Fund; authorizing a $2,558,152.00 construction contract with Blue Nile Contractors, Inc., for the replacement of water mains in the area of N. Randolph Road to N. Wallace Drive, N.E. Birmingham Road to N.E. 50th Street; and authorizing a maximum expenditure of $2,814,000.00.

Matt Bond and Terry Thomas, Water Services, testified that this construction project will replace aging, break prone cast iron pipe and polymerizing vinyl chloride water mains with ductile iron pipe. The construction will improve the distribution system reliability, increase hydraulic conveyance capacity, and support fire protection in the area of N. Randolph Road to N. Wallace Drive, N.E. Birmingham Road to N.E. 50th Street, in Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri. This work will include the transfer of customer's water service connections from existing mains to new mains, as well as restoration of roads and properties.
