Authorizing a Lease with Sprint Missouri, Inc., at the Kansas City International Airport.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Russ Widmar, Director, Aviation Department, was present to testify on behalf of this ordinance. He stated that this ordinance was for space that would be leased to Sprint in each of the 3 terminals. Mr. Widmar also stated that this lease would raise revenue in the amount of $14,000 over the next 5 years. He further stated that the Human Relations Department had previously approved the Affirmative Action plan for this project. Councilmember Loar asked if these spaces would be staffed. Mr. Widmar replied that these were unstaffed spaces and requested approval.

Estimating revenue in the Kansas City Airports Fund in the amount of $4,000,000.00 and appropriating $4,000,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Kansas City Airports Fund.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Russ Widmar, Director, Aviation Department, was present to testify on behalf of this ordinance. He stated that this ordinance was to fund law enforcement officers for the airport. Part of this funding would reimburse the Kansas City Police Department for the use of their officers and the remainder would pay for the actual airport staff. He further stated that no Human Relations plan had been approved for this ordinance, but that the Affirmative Action guidelines were been strictly followed and enforced. Councilmember Asjes stated that the security screening process had gone well as he had experienced it over the holidays. Mr. Widmar expressed his pleasure in hearing that the process was going well and requested approval.
