| Approving the assignment of certain development rights with respect to Phase 1 of the D.A. Holmes Redevelopment Project by D.A. Holmes Redevelopment Corporation to D.A. Holmes Development, L.P.; releasing D.A. Holmes Redevelopment Corporation as it relates to those certain development rights and authorizing execution of an Assignment and Assumption Agreement with D.A. Holmes Redevelopment Corporation and D.A. Holmes Development, L.P.
PLANNING, ZONING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS" This ordinance approves the are assignment of certain development rights for the D.A. Holmes Redevelopment Project. This project is already under way and will provide much needed low to moderate income housing for seniors in the 3rd District. Councilwoman Sandra McFadden Weaver and Councilman Troy Nash expressed support and excitement about the project. They stated that it will provide needed housing, improve the over look and atmosphere for the area concerned. The property has been empty for years and had become a haven for an undesirable element. A number of the City's distinguished seniors have expressed an interest in leasing units. So the project is off to a good start. |
