Tim Parks, City Development Department stated the purpose of the ordinance is to identify the permitted uses in District GPA that require approval of a GP development plan prior to the issuance of building permits and also providing for regulations that are similar to District GP-7, RA, C-2 for future wireless communication facilities in GPA district of the Longview Lake area. Committee recommended approval.

Authorizing execution of a $95,000.00 contract with LORD Cultural Resources Planning and Management, Inc., for planning services for the Town of Kansas Market Analysis and directing the City Clerk to file certain documents with the appropriate offices.

The contract will provide for market analysis services for the Town of Kansas. The contract is with LORD Cultural Resources Planning & Management Inc., for performance of market analysis services and also identifying and looking at the market that will support the development of the Town of Kansas as an urban archaeological park, tourism destination and academic research facility.

Reducing an appropriation in the amount of $47,344.00 in the Construction Division account of the Sewer Fund; appropriating it to the 18th and Vine Public Improvements account; designating requisitioning authority; and authorizing execution of a contract amendment with the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, increasing the contract amount by $47,344.00 for a total of $357,977.00 for the purpose of installing storm sewers in the 18th and Vine area.

Stan Barrett, Housing Community Development, stated that the ordinance amends the contract between the City and Planned Industrial Expansion Authority (PIEA) by increasing the contract by $47,344.00 for total of $357, 977.00. The increase is due to a change order for on-site work. Committee recommended approval.

RESOLUTION - Directing the City Manager to review the proposal for a Housing Commission contained in the report entitled "A Proposed Housing Policy for the 21st Century" prepared by the Mayor´s Citizen Advisory Committee on Housing to evaluate the opportunities and implications of such a commission on the Council´s ability to set housing policy and directing the City Manager to meet with minority housing providers in reviewing the proposal for a housing commission and to report to the Council.
