RESOLUTION - Authorizing and requesting the Mayor to submit a grant application under the State Services to Victims Fund in the amount of $115,400.55 with a match of City funds of $7,388.95 for one full time victim assistant and a part time child care provider in the Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program.


PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Marty Means, Assistant City Prosecutor,explained that the resolution requested that the Mayor make application for a Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program grant with matching funding from the City for $7,388.95. It would run from 2011-2013 and allow funding for 1 full time victims assistant and 1 part time child care provider.

Accepting a 2011 Violence Against Women Act Grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety.


PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Marty Means, Assistant City Prosecutor, stated that the ordinance would allow a STOP violence against women act grant that would be run from January, 2011 and December, 2011. The funding amount is $68,878.94 for one full time domestic violence prosecutor and one part trial de novo domestic violence prosecutor.

 1. There may be general discussion regarding current Public Safety and Neighborhood issues.
 
 2. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12; and/or (5) negotiations with employee groups, pursuant to subsection 9.
 
 3. The City Clerk's Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Drivers License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
