PLANNING, ZONING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Larry Stice, City Development Department,explained that the ordinance would allow a portion of an alley to be vacated and a portion of the property to be sold for the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.This project has been in the works for a long time and this ordinance would be a step toward finalizing. It has been a difficult process in part because it had been hard to determine ownership of property adjoined to the alley. This issue has been resulted and all the parties concerned are pleased and excited to proceed with the project.

Larry Stice, City Development Department, explained that the ordinance allows the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church to place a much needed security gate around their church parking lot. Pastor Aley commented that the it had been difficult getting to this point with the project but he and his congregation are excited to get things finalized.

Accepting the recommendations of the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City as to the First Amendment to the Prospect North Tax Increment Financing Plan and approving the First Amendment to the Prospect North Tax Increment Financing Plan.

Approving a General Development Plan for the 41st & Paseo Redevelopment Planning Area for an area of approximately 7.15 acres generally bounded by E. 41st Street, The Paseo, Wayne Avenue, and E. 42nd Street, declaring the area included in such plan to be a blighted area, insanitary or undeveloped industrial area and its redevelopment necessary and approving the ad valorem tax benefits.
