Approving the Second Amendment to the City Redevelopment Contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri and Summit Redevelopment Corporation to extend the dates relating to Phase II of the project.


PLANNING, ZONING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS AS A COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE, DEBATE"
City Planning and Development addressed the Committee. The site is only Phase II of a larger approved plan located at the southwest corner of 46th Street and Summit Avenue. Phase I is the Hampton Inn. The site received 353 tax abatement approval from the City Council and was rezoned to District URD on January 23, 1997. Phase I of the project consists of the new construction of a 9-story hotel containing approximately 193,801 SF of floor area with 203 guest rooms and a parking structure containing approximately 185 parking spaces. On October 20, 2005, the City Council authorized the Director of City Development to issue a Certificate of Completion on this project. A Certificate of Completion certifies that the building was constructed in conformance with all approved plans.

 Frank Lenk, MARC, will discuss the Chamber’s 2012 Economic Forecast. There will be discussion of Economic Development Priorities. There may be general discussion regarding current Planning, Zoning and Economic Development issues. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12. The City Clerk's Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver's License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned
