Amending Ordinance No. 001685 passed February 20, 2001, which established excavation permit fees, by repealing and reenacting Sections (a) and (e) thereof to change the required fees, and amending Chapter 64, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 64-434, Enforcement Policy, and enacting thereof a new section of like number and subject matter.

Amending Ordinance No. 020876 passed on August 1, 2002, Ordinance No. 011729 passed on August 29, 2002, and Ordinance No. 011599 passed on December 20, 2001, for the purposes of modifying the permit fee for hauling dirt, rock or similar materials, the application and permit fee for traffic control, and the permit fee for parades; and amending Chapter 64, Code of Ordinances, by repealing Section 70-562, Permits for Loading Zones, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section of like number and subject matter.

This ordinance will allow for the adjustment of the current cost being charged for these permits. The cost adjustment will make the program fully self funded.

Approving a $1,377,000.00 contract with Greenleaf Construction Company, Inc. for Contract No. 114, Catch Basin Replacements - 2006 Phase L; authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $1,560,467.00 for the project; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

Jim Mallen, Water Services, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance provides for replacement of about 300 existing stormwater catch basins and drop inlets that need to be replaced.

Approving a $432,500.00 Joint Funding Agreement with the United States Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey, for Contract No. 950, Water Resources Investigations, to assess the urban water quality in the Blue River Basin; authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $282,500.00 for the project; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

Jim Mallen, Water Services, testified on behalf of the ordinance. This ordinance will provide for a join effort between Kansas City and the United States Geological Survey for the assessment of the urban water quality in the Blue River Basin.

RESOLUTION - Directing the City Manager to work with the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners to determine if Little Blue Road, west of Noland Road, is more appropriate for designation as a boulevard than is Gregory.

 Councilman Ford will give an overview of the committee's responsibilities. Councilman Ford explained the basic guidelines that will be used in this committee.
