Appropriating $660,000.00 from the unappropriated fund balance of the Capital Improvements Sales Tax Fund to the Linwood Shopping Center project; designating the Director of Neighborhoods and Housing Services as requisitioning authority for certain accounts; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.


NEIGHBORHOODS AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS AS A COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE, DEBATE"
Mario Vasquez from the Public Works Department, and Matthew Dennis, Project Manager of the Linwood Development LLC gave a brief summary of the $800,000 funding needed for the project. The presentation include: the breakdown of the allocations, demolition, retail fa├žade refurbishment, screen walls for trash, grease interceptor, structural, electrical, ADA accessibility, and misc. items, signs, bollards, hose bibs, and security gate for liquor store. Other changes not included in the contract are security camera's and art work. The anticipated completion date is May 30th, 2018 and grand opening is set for June 16th, 2018. Estimating revenues and appropriations in the amount of $639,957.00 to the Neighborhoods Grants Fund for the Emergency Solutions Grant and designating requisitioning authority.

Stuart Bullington from Neighborhood and Housing Services gave a brief testimony of the appropriation of funds to the Emergency Solutions account. Emergency solutions is for a emergency solutions grant that assists with eight agencies that provide for the homeless and homeless families. This money will be allocated for costs to operate the agencies.

 1. There may be a general discussion regarding current Neighborhoods and Public Safety issues.
 
 2. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12.
 
 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
