RESOLUTION - Adopting the 63rd Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan as a guide for the future development and redevelopment for the area generally bounded by Wornall Road on the west, Bruce R. Watkins Drive (U.S. Highway 71) on the east, 59th Street on the north and Meyer Boulevard on the south. (578-S)


PLANNING, ZONING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Brian Hamilton, gave a thorough overview of the 63rd Street plan. He went over the goals of the project. plan principal; mixed use neighborhood villages neighborhood enrichment; urban design framework; streetscape; institutional campuses, new residential development parks and open space. Land Use & Development Framework and Regional Framework (future extensions); implement strategies. Councilwoman Cooper express concerns regarding the Town Creek Area Plan referencing to the flooding. She also expressed concerns regarding funding for the project. Lisa Lassman-Briscoe, City Planning & Development Department, stated that the plan is a policy guideline for decision making. John DeBauche, City Development Department, also testified on the ordinance. Supports the plan Marty, Southtown Council, spoke in support of the Gene Ray, spoke in support of the plan. Flora Bluford, Director, East Meyer Blvd. David .... Southtown Council Board of Director.

RESOLUTION - Approving an amendment to the East Meyer Boulevard Area Plan for an area generally bounded by Troost Avenue on the west, Bruce R. Watkins Drive (U.S. Highway 71) to the east, 63rd Street to the north and Meyer Boulevard to the south to recommend "mixed-use residential/commercial/office/institutional uses" instead of "low density residential" "commercial" and "institutional" uses. John Eckardt, City Planning & Development Department, stated that the plat will approve 19 single familly homes. He also stated that the project is good for infill housing. Three roadways will be constructedCity Plan Commission recommended approval Jim Bowers, Attorney, eliminate the Gary Calvert, opposes the cul de sac on his property, because it will take up half the yard. He also opposes a cul de sac on the applicant's property.

RESOLUTION - Amending the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan by amending the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for an approximately 43.4 acre tract of land generally located at the northwest corner of N.E. L.P. Cookingham Drive and (realigned) N.E. Sherman Road, by changing the recommended land use designation from "residential uses" to "retail uses."
