 1. There may be a general discussion regarding current Transportation and Infrastructure Committee issues.

David Long, Aviation, stated that for the construction of a new single terminal at KCI a group of airlines agreed to spend a substantial amount of money in the Kansas City community, which is something he has not seen in his tenure in the Aviation Department. Councilwoman Justus, stated that for anyone that would like to view the hearings that have taken place concerning the ballot issues of the new single terminal at KCI, they can go to kcmo.gov/airport. Councilman Fowler, stated that per Southwest Airlines that they cannot guarantee flights even if the airport does pass on November 7, however, they can guaranteed that if it does not pass new flights will not be added. He also stated that if the airport measure does not pass airlines will enter into talks with other counties for a new airport then Kansas City will be left with a facility that they cannot use. Councilman Reed, stated that the discussion of having a new airport has been a long term process which has been transparent and voices Kanas city citizens have been heard. Bringing a new airport to Kansas helps the community; it brings shared prosperity and job opportunities. Kansas City is a world class City and deserves a world class airport. He encouraged everyone to get out and voted no matter which way they will vote on the airport measure voting is important.
