The desing of the apartment completex asked for changes at the city plan commission meeting. bring apartments closer to red bridge road. there will be 216 parking spaces. (1 parking space per person). the intetion of the first 10 years will be used for student housing. Mark Bryant, attorney, commended staff or the project. Clienct has exceeded with all procedures regarding the project. most of the area is commercial it is there plan no to use the area. (buffer) distance of 300 ft between apts. and residens. the average age for studens are 26 - 28 years of age. not guanranteed that every unit will be famil. Ford: Market Rate? the densidty requirement exceeds will not be not less what is required by city ordinance. There will be nouth parking spaces. requested that the committee hold the ordinances on the agenda for one month. The president of Devry will be present at the next meeting to testifyl, Housing is needed for the university. City plan commission recommended approval. in conformance with the area plan. Councilman Nash stated it is good to have this type of problem. Mark: development will not effect the traffic on red bridge road. Councilman Eddy: been working on project for some time and he has concerns that the project will not be sustrainable on the location. The college is an asset for the cityh. The property is not agriculture. the project will impact the community. The community is not against dorms' being in thecommunity. but the problem is the location of the dorms. cooper: improvement at red bridge road? money availble for improvement developer construct a left hand turn. Steve casteron. lived in area since 1984. there has been a lot of slow progression with the area. a lot of water flow.
