RESOLUTION - Directing the City Manager to establish a long-term, sustainable City-wide curb and sidewalk improvement program to improve the conditions of the City’s curbs and sidewalks to approved industry standard.


TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "BE ADOPTED"
Councilman Russ Johnson testified on behalf of this resolution. Stan Harris, Public Works, testified in support of the resolution and distributed copies of the draft sidewalk policy, dated August 28, 2007, to the committee. Mr. Harris commented on the policy and answered questions from the committee. Gregory Rokos, Public Works, explained the current City policy regarding individuals wanting to repair their sidewalk. No public testimony. This resolution directs the City Manager to establish a long-term, sustainable City-wide curb and sidewalk improvement program to improve the conditions of the City’s curbs and sidewalks to approved industry standard.

RESOLUTION - Designating the City’s share of Clay County’s special road and bridge tax receipts for calendar years 2008 and 2009, in accordance with Section 137.556, Revised Statutes of Missouri; and directing the City Manager to transmit this resolution to Clay County.


TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION AS A COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE"
Stan Harris, Public Works, explained the purpose of this resolution. Gregory Rokos, Public Works, answered questions regarding status of the current Major Street Plan. No public testimony. This resolution designates the City’s share of Clay County’s special road and bridge tax receipts for calendar years 2008 and 2009, in accordance with Section 137.556, Revised Statutes of Missouri; and directs the City Manager to transmit this resolution to Clay County.
