Authorizing a $48,732.00 Amendment No. 3 to an Agreement with George Butler Associates, Inc., for Project No. B29 - Installation of Package Boilers, Project No. B89 - Rehabilitate Chilled Water System and Project No. B90 - Energy Management System at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $58,732.00.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russ Widmar, Director of Aviation, stated that this ordinance was amending the already existing contract with George Butler Associates. It allows for George Butler Associates to provide construction management services and additional design services because of changes made to the terminal since the original design work was done in 1995.

Authorizing a $4,748,700.00 contract with Foley Company for Project No. B-29 - Installation of Package Boilers at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $5,238,403.08.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russ Widmar, Director of Aviation, indicated that the boiler system mentioned in this ordinance was repaired on a temporary basis. At the time the repairs were to last for 1 year. However, the repairs have lasted for 3 years. Mr. Widmar feels that the repairs are at a critical stage with regards to timeliness in repairs. Councilman Alvin Brooks wanted to know what percentage of funds would be going to minority contractors. Sheila Williams, Aviation Department, handed out information on the contractor and minority contract and answered questions pertaining to the percentages of minority contractor participation. Esther Moten, Human Relations Department, testified that Best Faith Efforts were made in attempting to select the MBE/WBE contractors.
