Authorizing a $150,000.00 Letter of Agreement with Trans World Airlines for the reimbursement cost of an engineering study at the existing TWA Overhaul Base located at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $150,000.00 and declaring official intent under U.S. Treasury Regulation Section 1.150-2.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of the ordinance. This ordinance would authorize a letter of agreement that would allow for an engineering study at Kansas City International Airport. The current lease expires May 31, 2000. The city of Kansas City, Missouri and TWA are in agreement of the repairs that are needed for the overhaul base. The repairs that are needed consist of: electrical repairs, heating and ventilating systems and air conditioning repairs. This ordinance would allow the Aviation Department to reimburse TWA half the cost of the study for the base. TWA will manage the study. The Aviation Department will do a review of the study. The Aviation Department will recover the cost from the bonds supporting these improvements.

Authorizing a Terminal Leasehold Agreement with Parks Maintenance Service, Inc., at the Kansas City International Airport for mezzanine level office space in Terminal B.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of the ordinance. This ordinance would authorize the execution of a one year lease for four hundred sixty-six (466) square feet of space in terminal B at the mezzanine level at KCI effective on March 1, 2000. This agreement will have two (2) one year options at the discretion of the Aviation Department.

Authorizing payment of $40,616.00 in relocation benefits in connection with the City┬┤s acquisition of Tract Nos. 92 and 93 in Kansas City, Platte County, Missouri, and authorizing payment of not more than $2,000.00 in closing costs to Old Republic Title Company in connection with such purchase.


AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS"
Russell Widmar, Director of the Aviation Department, testified on behalf of the ordinance. This ordinance would authorize payment of relocation benefits to leo and Mathilda Perkins. Recently the Aviation Department purchased tracts of land in the southwest quadroon of KCI. Since Aviation purchased the land, Mr. and Mrs. Perkins are entitled to the relocation benefits, under the federal guidelines.
