041246
Authorizing the execution of a General Services Agreement between Kansas City, Missouri and Standard Parking at Kansas City International Airport and the expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the amount of $28,241,169.

AVIATION COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Mr. VanLoh, Aviation Department, stated that after requests for bids had gone out three companies responded. Standard Parking was the lowest and most reasonable of the three bids. The contract is for five years with 2 one-year renewal options. Councilman Skaggs voiced concerns about the length of time for the contract. He wanted to know if the contract was flexible enough to allow for changes during the contract period, if needed. Mr. VanLoh stated that clauses had been added to the contract for that purpose. Councilwoman McFadden-Weaver asked about the MBE/WBE participation in the contract. She also wanted to know if the money being funded was an annual amount or the total. Aviation staff responded that the amounts were annual amounts for the 5-year period.
