RESOLUTION - Expressing opposition to Missouri House Bill 722, a legislative action recently vetoed by Governor Nixon that intrudes on local control; and directing the City Clerk to provide copies to the appropriate officials.


LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Councilman Jermaine Reed, testified in support of Resolution 150754, and emphasized his opposition to House Bill 722 due to potentially harmful, albeit unintentional consequences it may have in the Community if Governor Jay Nixon's recent veto were to be overridden. Councilman Reed also testified about House Bill 722 interfering with local control. Molly Fleming, Missouri Jobs with Justice provided a brief explanation on the history of House Bill 722 and described several, potentially negative unintended consequences that might result locally if Governor Jay Nixon's veto were overridden.
