110354 Accepting and approving a grant to the City in the amount of $945,000.00 from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program; estimating revenue in the amount of $945,000.00 in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; appropriating it to the USFA AFG Grant account in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS
 1. There will be a presentation on the city’s direct operation of its animal shelter and preparations to issue a request for proposals for a private operator of the shelter.
 2. There will be an overview of EMS medical direction by Joe Salomone, M.D., EMS Medical Director.
 3. There will be a presentation on the continuous chest compression method of aiding cardiac arrest victims.
 4. There will be a presentation from the Kansas City Police Department, Central Patrol Division, to address the control of youth activity during the summer months on the Country Club Plaza.
 5. There may be a general discussion regarding current Public Safety and Emergency Services issues.
 6. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss:

(1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to
subsection 1;
(2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2;
(3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13;
(4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12
 The City Clerk's Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver's License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
