The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will hold a work session on Thursday, May 17, 2007 in the 10th floor Committee Room from 9 to 10:30am. Members of this committee include: Councilman Ed Ford, Chair, Councilwoman Melba Curls, Vice Chair, Mayor Pro-Tem Bill Skaggs, Councilman Russ Johnson, and Councilwoman Jan Marcason. Councilwoman Marcason will moderate the session, the primary purpose of which is to consolidate information and inform the committee (as well as other Councilmembers, attendees, viewers, and interested parties) about the issue of combined sewers in Kansas City. This session will include a brief history of what has been done to date, EPA requirements, what the various stakeholders are doing now, a timeline and cost estimates going forward, and discussion about the role of this committee in the process of sensibly tackling this enormous infrastructure project.
