This project is to provide spatial and temporal water-quality and ecological sampling and analytical data for the Blue River and its tributaries to be collected over approximately one year. This data is needed in support of the development of a long-term control strategy for combined sewer overflows as well as to provide benchmarks against which future modifications and subsequent changes in stream water quality and biota can be measured. All work in this agreement is to be performed by USGS. The City Council approved Ordinance No. 040731 in July 2004 Contract No. 852 approving $297,000.00 for the first year funding of a five-year effort. The City Council approved Ordinance No. 050534 in May 2005 Contract No. 878 to expend $298,000.00 on the second year funding of a five-year effort.
