COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 070447

 

Authorizing execution of a $1,145,000.00 Cooperative Agreement with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, the Port Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Downtown Economic Stimulus Authority for the purpose of providing funds for certain development and redevelopment services.

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire that the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, support and coordinate the activities of and provide professional staff for all of the economic development and redevelopment agencies operating on behalf of the City including the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, the Port Authority of Kansas City, the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City and the Downtown Economic Stimulus Authority of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Department of City Development is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement, on behalf of the City, with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, the Port Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City, Missouri, and the Downtown Economic Stimulus Authority of Kansas City, Missouri, in the amount of $1,145,000.00 for the purpose of providing funds for certain development and redevelopment services to be paid from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 08-1000-642000-B, Economic Development Corporation ($1,050,000.00) and Account No. 07-100-1000-632000-B, Economic Development Corporation ($95,000.00). A copy of the Cooperative Agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and is hereby approved.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
