ORDINANCE NO. 110042

 

Authorizing the Director of Water Services to enter into a Stakeholder Cooperative Agreement and Stakeholder Contribution Agreement with the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) in support of the Missouri River Degradation Feasibility Cost Share Agreement between MARC and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers; authorizing the expenditure of $300,000.00 to MARC subject to future appropriations; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a Stakeholder Cooperative Agreement and Stakeholder Contribution Agreement with MARC in support of the Missouri River Degradation Feasibility Cost Share Agreement between MARC and the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. Copies of these agreements are on file with the Director of Water Services.

Section 2. That the Stakeholder Cooperative Agreement will be partially funded in the amount of $100,000.00 with funds previously appropriated as follows:

 

11-8010-807710-B-60800003 MO River Degradation Feasibility $ 33,333.00

11-8110-807726-B-60810005 MO River Degradation Feasibility 33,333.00

11-8200-802331-B MO River Degradation Feasibility 33,334.00

TOTAL $100,000.00

Section 3. That the City’s remaining financial obligation is contingent upon future appropriations.

Section 4. That upon completion of the agreements, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to return the unexpended portion of the appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation in the amount of $100,000.00, to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
