COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 080953

 

Authorizing acceptance of a $104,600.00 Fair Housing Assistance Program Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of investigating discrimination complaints in housing; and designating requisitioning authority.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City to enter into contracts with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), acting through its director, whereby HUD will provide funding to investigate discrimination complaints in housing.

 

Section 2. That the revenue in the following account of the General Fund is estimated in the following amount:

 

09-1000-105200-479160 07 Fair Housing Grant $104,600.00

 

Section 3. That the sum of $104,600.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in the General Fund:

 

09-1000-105200-B 07 Fair Housing Grant $104,600.00

 

Section 4. That the City Manager is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 09-1000-105200.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
