RESOLUTION NO. 120678

 

Honoring James “JP” Smith on his retirement after 39½ years of service with the Union Pacific Railroad of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, JP has been a committed conductor during his career with the Union Pacific Railroad; and

 

WHEREAS, JP was born in Kansas City, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in the class of 1969; and

 

            WHEREAS, JP is married to Janette Smith and has four children and five grandchildren; and

 

WHEREAS, JP attends the Friendship Baptist Church and has served as a volunteer  by donating time and support to various community and civic organizations, is a member of Ben Employees Network for Union Pacific Railroad and 5 Points Productions; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY;

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to James “JP”
Smith, on the occasion of his retirement after 39½ years of services from the Union Pacific Railroad, the heartiest best wishes for his future; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to James “JP” Smith in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
