ORDINANCE NO. 110657

 

Authorizing a contract amendment with the Metropolitan Energy Center to amend the scope of services and budget for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG) made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

 

WHEREAS, the City was one of 25 entities nationwide selected by the DOE to be a recipient of a Better Buildings Program grant and the City has negotiated a revised scope of work consistent with a grant award in the amount of $20,000,000.00 in order to implement the EnergyWorks KC program over a three-year period; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to meet the grant requirements established by DOE under the Program, the City must amend its contract with the Metropolitan Energy Center which was approved by Council through Ordinance No. 100787; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute Amendment 1 to Contract No. EECBG-ARRA-OEQ-2 with the Metropolitan Energy Center to provide services helpful to owners of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings for implementing energy efficiency upgrades to their buildings through the EnergyWorks KC initiative. A copy of the contract amendment is on file with the City Clerk.
