Amending an Agreement with Teksystems, a division of Aerotek, Inc., to provide technical assistance for World Wide Web site development and design, e-commerce initiatives, World Wide Web access to City services and KIVA implementation and support, by authorizing hourly charges to increase from $31.75 per hour to an amount not to exceed $45 per hour.

WHEREAS, a contract has been approved with Teksystems for providing professional technical services to the City for an amount up to $31.75 per hour; and

WHEREAS, additional services are required to be provided by a person for whom a reasonable hourly rate is $45.00; and

WHEREAS, to authorize the use of an additional person provided by Teksystems while remaining within the total authorized maximum amount of the contract previously approved by the City Council an amendment to the City-Teksystems agreement is required; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an Agreement with Teksystems, a division of Aerotek, Inc., as amended by Ordinance 981364, to provide technical assistance for various Internet and computer initiatives is amended by repealing Section 4 - Maximum Obligation, and by enacting new sections to read as follows:

Sec. 4. MAXIMUM OBLIGATION. The City shall pay an amount not to exceed $136,480, including the amount paid under this Agreement as originally executed. The City shall pay TEKSYSTEMS based upon an hourly rate of its employees assigned to the City of no more than $45 per hour, and up to 1.5 times the hourly rate for overtime.

Section 2. All remaining provisions of the Contract will remain in effect.
