ORDINANCE NO. 950158

Authorizing a $28,812.00 contract with APAC Kansas, Inc., for emergency repairs to the bridge at 10000 Lane Avenue, authorizing the Director of Public Works to expend $30,812.00 for the project, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the work of constructing emergency repairs on the bridge at 10000 Lane Avenue, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, Council District 6, Project No. 5395, is hereby provided for and authorized.

Section 2. That the work shall be done in accordance with the plans, specifications and the contract therefore between Kansas City, Missouri, through its Director of Public Works, and APAC Kansas, Inc., a foreign corporation, in the amount of $28,812.00, which contract is hereby approved and confirmed. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works and is incorporated herein by reference.

Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $30,812.00 from funds heretofore appropriated to Account No. 95-309-089-7702-T as and for the consideration in the aforesaid contract and for engineering associated therewith.

Section 4. That this ordinance, making provision for the immediate preservation of the public property, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
