ORDINANCE NO. 980916

Authorizing an Addendum to the Cooperative Agreement for Water Purchase between Kansas City, Missouri and Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Platte County, Missouri.

WHEREAS, the Council passed Ordinance No. 971217 authorizing a Cooperative Agreement for Water Purchase between Kansas City and Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Platte County, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, further engineering studies have revealed the need to increase the size of the water main to be constructed pursuant to that Agreement in order to provide water for both the District and for projected growth within that part of Kansas City, NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, an Addendum to the Cooperative Agreement for Water Purchase between Kansas City, Missouri and Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Platte County, Missouri. The addendum provides for increasing the size of the supply main along Barry Road to Childress Avenue. Said addendum shall be in a form substantially as that attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That upon the effective date of said agreement, the City Clerk is directed to cause a copy of this ordinance and of this Addendum to the Agreement to be recorded in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Platte County, Missouri, and with the Secretary of State of the State of Missouri, in accordance with R.S.Mo. Section 70.300 (1994).
