ORDINANCE NO. 060357

 

Authorizing the City, acting through the Court Administrator, to enter into a $3,788,371.00 intergovernmental agreement with the Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator, contingent upon appropriation, to join the Court Automation Program and implement an integrated case management computer system.

 

WHEREAS, the Municipal Court currently operates a variety of aged computer systems that are incapable of upgrading; and

 

WHEREAS, without modernization of the systems the Court is technologically unable to improve the integrity and security of information, enhance services, improve system functionality and promote more cost effective operations; and

 

WHEREAS, financing of this one-time cost is being addressed in companion legislation; and

 

WHEREAS, ongoing payments of the Citys participation in the Court Automation Program will be funded by a required $7.00 per case court cost paid to the State of Missouri which is being addressed in companion legislation; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Court Administrator is authorized to enter into an intergovernmental agreement in an amount not to exceed $3,788,371.00 with the Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator for participation in the Court Automation Program, subject to appropriation by the City Council, in substantial form as Exhibit A attached to this ordinance.
