COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 970435, AS AMENDED

 

Amending Article VIII of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri relating to the Classification and Compensation Plan, by repealing Sections 2-1075, 2-1076, 2-1077, 2-1078, 2-1079, 2-1080 and 2-1081 and enacting in lieu thereof new sections of like number, relating to the same general subject matter; increasing the salaries of certain employees in the classified service and certain employees in the unclassified service by 3.5% effective April 27, 1997; and increasing the salaries of employees in M-30 salary grades and higher by 3.5% on the date of their last salary increase.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That Article VIII of the Administrative Code of Kansas City, Missouri is hereby amended by repealing Sections 2-1075, 2-1076, 2-1077, 2-1078, 2-1079, 2-1080, and 2-1081, relating to the Classification and Compensation Plan, and in lieu thereof the following sections are hereby enacted, to-wit:

Section 2-1081. Salary schedule for elective positions in the City service.

 

The following schedule for elective positions in the City service is hereby adopted as the

standard annual salary schedule for the following positions in the City service as set out herein below:

Section 2. All employees in the classified service, excluding employees in M-30 salary grade and above, and employees in administrative secretary classifications will receive an across the board salary increase of 3.5% effective April 27, 1997. Though no further systematic salary adjustments will be made, employees will be subject to a performance evaluation on their anniversary date.

 

Section 3. Employees in M-30 salary grade and above shall receive a 3.5% salary increase on the date of their last salary increase or date of employment if no salary increase has occurred. Provided, however, that the salary increase that occurred on April 28, 1996 shall not be considered when determining the date of an employee's last salary increase. Under these provisions, employees receiving an increase because the minimum range of their pay grade has changed, may receive a total salary increase of 3.5% during the total current fiscal year. This increase shall be in addition to any increases awarded pursuant to Section 2-1086(f) or Section 2-1086(m), Code of Ordinances.

 

Section 4. This ordinance will become effective April 27, 1997, as of 7:01 a.m., for all affected classes.
