ORDINANCE NO. 931276
Authorizing a contract in the amount of $55,048.90 with
Total Electric Construction Co. for constructing a traffic signal modification
for Prospect at 59th Street; estimating revenue and appropriating $48,179.00 to
the project account; and authorizing expenditure of $60,554.00 in funding
therefor.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the work of constructing a traffic
signal modification for Prospect at 59th Street, consisting of mast arms,
traffic controller, pull boxes, conduit and other necessary appurtenances, in
Council District 5, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, Project No. 4032,
Federal Project No. STPG-3462(402), is hereby provided for and authorized.
Section 2. That the work shall be done in
accordance with the plans, specifications and the contract therefore between
Kansas City, Missouri, through its Director of Public Works, and Total Electric
Construction Co., a foreign corporation, in the amount of $55,048.90, which
contract is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works and is
incorporated herein by reference.
Section 3. That the revenue in the following
account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby estimated in the following
amount:
309-089-7882 STP Grant - 59th and Prospect Signals
$48,179.00
Section 4. That the sum of $48,179.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Capital Improvements
Fund, to the following account in the Capital Improvements Fund:
309-089-7705T Traffic Signal Interconnection
$48,179.00
Section 5. That the Director of Public Works is
hereby authorized to expend the sum of $60,554.00 from funds heretofore
appropriated to Account No. 309-089-7705T as and for consideration in the
aforesaid contract and for contingencies and engineering associated therewith.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
