ORDINANCE NO. 970079

Authorizing a nine month $59,000.00 agreement with the Wellington Group from funds previously appropriated to provide consultant services to the Kansas City ASSIST (American Stop Smoking Intervention Study) project and cost reimbursement for media advocacy.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, acting through its Director of Health, and the Wellington Group, acting through its executory authority, whereby Wellington Group will provide consultant services to the Kansas City ASSIST (American Stop Smoking Intervention Study) project and cost reimbursement for media advocacy, for the period of January 1, 1997 through September 30, 1997, for which the City will provide funding in an amount not to exceed $59,000.00, from funds previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 960338 in Account No. 97-100-050-2380, is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
