COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 971243

Adopting certain revisions to the Major Street Plan for Kansas City by repealing the Major Street Plan Map and Appendix A - Major Street Inventory and directing the City Clerk to file certain documents with the appropriate offices.

WHEREAS, a Major Street Plan for Kansas City was adopted by Second Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 64073, passed September 28, 1989; and

WHEREAS, further changes were recommended and approved by Ordinance No. 64760, passed November 22, 1989; by Ordinance No. 911308, passed November 27, 1991; and by Ordinance No. 960104, passed March 7, 1996; and

WHEREAS, further review and revisions have been initiated by staff concerning certain issues related to the Major Street Plan; and

WHEREAS, the review by City staff has been reflected in the recommended modifications to the Major Street Plan specifically for the Major Street Plan Map and Appendix A - Major Street Inventory; and

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission has reviewed the proposed amendments to the Major Street Plan and, pursuant to public notice and hearing, did on August 5, 1997, recommend certain revisions to the Major Street Plan and the City Council has considered said recommendation and hereby adopts certain revisions to the Major Street Plan, specifically which realigns N. Executive Hills Boulevard between Tiffany Springs Parkway and Mo. Highway 152, which realigns N. Skyview Road north of N.W. Tiffany Springs Road, which realigns N.W. Tiffany Springs Road over I-29 and which provides the alignment for the Special Purpose Rapid Transit Corridor, between N.W. 104th Street and N.W. Tiffany Springs Road, following relocated N. Executive Hills Boulevard from N.W. Tiffany Springs Road north to Tiffany Springs Parkway to N. Congress Avenue to 104th Street; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Major Street Plan of Kansas City as approved by Second Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 64073, passed September 28, 1989, and as amended by Ordinance No. 67460, passed November 22, 1989, as amended by Ordinance No. 911308, passed November 27, 1991, and as further amended by Ordinance No. 960104, passed March 7, 1996, is further amended by repealing the Major Street Plan Map and Appendix A - Major Street Inventory and adopting in lieu thereof a new Major Street Plan Map and Appendix A - Major Street Inventory, copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk under Document No. 971243, and are incorporated herein by reference.

Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to file such documents in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson, Cass, Clay and Platte Counties, Missouri.

Section 3. That the Council hereby finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
