ORDINANCE NO. 940670

 

Approving a $264,864.00 contract with McCorkendale Construction Inc. for emergency repair and replacement of sewer facilities in the area of 23rd & Wyoming; authorizing expenditure of $344,325.00 in funding therefore; and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a $264,864.00 contract between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, through its Director of Water and Pollution Control, and McCorkendale Construction Inc. for emergency replacement of water and sewer mains in the area of 23rd and Wyoming, is hereby approved and confirmed.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water and Pollution Control is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $344,325.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 95-811-086-2992-B to satisfy the cost of this emergency contract including changes deemed necessary.

 

Section 3. That the ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 15, Article II of the Charter of Kansas City because it is for the immediate preservation of public property, health and safety and shall take effect immediately upon passage. _____________________________________________

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
