Authorizing the Director
of Neighborhood and Community Services to renew a lease agreement with Leeds
Depot Ltd., for a term of one year beginning May 1, 2000, at the rate of
$11,400.00 per month for 19.4 acres of fences, asphalt surfaced and lighted
site located at 39th and Raytown Road.
BE IT ORDAINED BY
THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services is authorized to execute,
on behalf of the City, a lease agreement whereby the City leases from Leeds
Depot Ltd., for the period of May 1, 2000 to April 30, 2001, approximately 19.4
acres of land improved with perimeter fencing, asphaltic surfacing and security
lighting, located on three sites (A and B lots approximately 8.5 acres
separated by Raytown Road, Lot C, approximately 2.4 acres located behind Lot
A). The rate of $10,200.00 per month on Lots A and B and the rate of $1,200.00
per month for Lot C for a total of $136,800.00 for the one year lease, to be
paid from funds appropriated in Account No. 01-100-057-2325-B to provide a site
for the Neighborhood and Community Services Tow-In Facility. A copy of the
lease agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
