ORDINANCE NO. 030543

 

Amending Ordinance No. 001586 by repealing Section 2 thereof and enacting in its place a new section, revising the legal description for Project Area 2 of the Parvin Road Corridor Tax Increment Financing Plan.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council of Kansas City, Missouri by Ordinance No. 54556, passed on November 24, 1982, and thereafter repealed and amended in certain respects by Committee Substitute to Ordinance No. 911076, as amended, passed on August 29, 1991, created the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City, Missouri (the "Commission"); and

 

WHEREAS, on December 14, 2000, the Council passed Ordinance No. 001638, which approved the Parvin Road Corridor Tax Increment Financing Plan and designated the Redevelopment Area as an economic development area (the Redevelopment Plan); and

 

WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Plan and ordinances contemplate the implementation of the Redevelopment Plan through four separate Redevelopment Project Areas and the adoption of tax increment financing in each of the areas selected for such Redevelopment Projects; and

 

WHEREAS, on December 14, 2001, the Council passed Ordinance No. 001586 approving Project Area 2, the legal description of which requires revision; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That Ordinance No. 001586 is hereby amended by repealing Section 2 and enacting a new Section 2 in its place to read as follows:

 

Section 2. The area selected for Parvin Road Corridor Redevelopment Project Area 2 is legally described as follows:

 

All that part of Section 2 and 11, Township 50, Range 32, Kansas City, Clay County, Missouri, being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 2; thence North 0o4050 East, along the West line of said Southwest Quarter 1772.08 feet; thence Northeasterly, along a curve to the right, having an initial tangent bearing of North 50o4846 East, a radius of 2825.99 feet, an arc distance of 1224.28 feet; thence South 0o3553 West, 3432.44 feet; thence South 89o2430 East, 435.93 feet; thence South 0o2711 West, 847.94 feet; thence South 68o5735 West, 361.10 feet; thence North 21o0225 West, 108.41 feet; thence North 89o3249 West, 1138.70 feet to a point on the West line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 11; thence North 0o2711 East, along said West line, 1984.98 feet to the Point of Beginning. Containing 110.35 acres, more or less.

 

is approved and designated as Parvin Road Corridor Project Area 2 (the Redevelopment Project), effective December 14, 2000 (the Original Effective Date). The actions of all City officials and the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City, Missouri, in allocating, paying, depositing, receiving and/or disbursing payments in lieu of taxes or economic activity taxes for Redevelopment Project Area 2, which have been approved after the Original Effective Date, but prior to the effective date of this ordinance, are hereby ratified and approved.
