ORDINANCE NO. 200799

Approving a $50,000.00 Amendment No. 5 with AquaLaw PLC for legal services in connection with the Overflow Control Plan and other environmental legal issues for a total contract amount of $200,000.00.  

WHEREAS, the City executed a contract with AquaLaw PLC in September of 2016, and has executed four amendments for a total City obligation of $150,000.00; and

WHEREAS, Amendment No. 5 will allow for continued legal services in connection with the City’s Overflow Control Plan and other environmental legal issues involving the Water Services Department; NOW, THEREFORE, 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY: 

Section 1. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a $50,000.00 Amendment No. 5 with AquaLaw, PLC, with funds previously appropriated in Account No. 21-8110-801000-B. A copy of the amendment is on file in the City Attorney’s Office.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
