ORDINANCE NO. 090212

 

Accepting and approving a nine month, $190,000.00 contract amendment with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services that provides funding for the continued expansion of active surveillance through communicable disease liaison staff in local hospitals, assessing the ability of public health professionals to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Citys communicable disease activities; increasing revenue in the amount of $111,764.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund; and increasing appropriations in the amount of $74,374.00 in the Governmental Grants Fund.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That a nine month contract amendment between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting though its Director of Health, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, acting through its Director of Administration, whereby the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will provide funding to continue the expansion of the active surveillance of communicable disease activities in the Kansas City, Missouri area for a period beginning December 1, 2008 through August 9, 2009, for an amount not to exceed $190,000.00, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of the amendment, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of the Governmental Grants Fund is hereby increased in the following amount:

 

09-2480-500001-475560 Communicable Disease Liaison $111,764.00

 

Section 3. That the appropriations in the following accounts in the Governmental Grants Fund are hereby increased by the following amounts:

 

09-2480-505409-A Communicable Disease Liaison $ 67,464.00

09-2480-505409-B Communicable Disease Liaison 1,490.00

09-2480-505409-C Communicable Disease Liaison 5,420.00

TOTAL $ 74,374.00

 

Section 2. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $111,764.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 09-2480-505409 for the aforesaid contract amendment.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
