RESOLUTION NO. 070540

Honoring Maureen Hardy and extending to her the appreciation, gratitude and respect for her work on behalf of Mayor Kay Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Maureen Hardy joined Mayor Kay Barnes staff in April 1999 after working on the Mayors campaign. Always interested in politics, Maureen had previously been involved in efforts to limits on campaign finance expenditures; and

WHEREAS, Maureen has been responsible for constituent services and helping people resolve real or perceived problems with municipal government. Maureen has also taken the responsibility of helping the Mayor attend to many tasks such as hospitality details, clerical work, and helping direct residents toward the resolution of issues and concerns with the City; and

WHEREAS, besides her work and the assistance she gave other staff members, Maureen is known for her Maureenisms and for the tuna salad her husband frequently supplied. Maureen doesnt suffer fools (i.e Republicans) gladly, but often an acerbic comment from her actually meant that she was quite fond of the targets of her seemingly unkind words. Maureen has brought a certain spirit to the office that has contributed to its success, and she has always shown great dedication to Mayor Barnes and the residents of the City; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council do hereby honor Maureen Hardy and extend to her their appreciation, gratitude and respect for her work on behalf of Mayor Kay Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLEVD that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Maureen Hardy with appropriate recognition and appreciation.
