ORDINANCE NO. 930431

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with The Children's Mercy Hospital whereby the Hospital will provide health care services to youth for one year beginning May 1, 1993, for which the City will pay $3,459,756.00 from previously appropriated funds, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement, on behalf of the City, with The Children's Mercy Hospital, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby the Hospital will provide health care services to young citizens, for one year beginning May 1, 1993, for which the City will pay $3,459,756.00 from funds provided in the 1993-94 Budget Ordinance No. 930319 in the following accounts and amounts:

100-051-2120-B Children's Mercy Hospital $1,174,569.00 233-051-2120-F Children's Mercy Hospital $2,285,187.00

A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
