ORDINANCE NO. 990738

 

Approving a $2,075,000.00 contract with Beemer Construction Co. Inc. for Contract No. 7160 North Brighton Water Transmission Main; reducing appropriations; transferring funds; and appropriating funds.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the appropriation associated with contracts for construction of the Arrowhead Pump Station is hereby reduced in the following amount from the following account:

 

99-809-080-7209-T Arrowhead Pump Station $4,500,310.00

 

Section 2. That the remaining encumbrance and retainages in Account No. 99-809-080-7209-T for the Arrowhead Pump Station contracts are hereby transferred to Account No. 00-804-080-7209-T.

 

Section 3. That appropriations totaling $5,167,010.00 are hereby reduced in the following amounts from the following accounts:

 

99-804-080-7531-T 63rd Street Transmission Main $ 666,700.00

99-804-080-7703-T Water Main Construction 1,488,310.00

99-804-080-7704-T Facility Modifications/Improvements 3,012,000.00

Total: $5,167,010.00

 

Section 4. That $4,500,310.00 associated with contracts for construction of the Arrowhead Pump Station is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Revenue Bond 804 Series 1998 A&B to the following account and in the following amount:

 

00-804-080-7209-T Arrowhead Pump Station $4,500,310.00

 

Section 5. That the appropriation associated with the contract for construction of the 63rd Street Transmission Main is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Revenue Bond Fund 809 Series 1996B to the following account:

 

00-809-080-7531-T 63rd Street Transmission Main $ 666,700.00

 

Section 6. That the remaining encumbrance and existing expenditures and retainage in Account No. 99-804-7531-T for the 63rd Street Transmission Main contract are hereby transferred to Account No. 00-809-080-7531-T.

 

Section 7. That a $2,075,000.00 contract between Kansas City, Missouri, through its Director of Water Services, and Beemer Construction Co. Inc., for construction of the North Brighton water transmission main is hereby approved and confirmed. A copy of said contract is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.

 


Section 8. That the sum of $2,075,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Water Revenue Bond Fund, Series 1996B to the following account:

 

00-809-080-7107-T WTM, N Brighton, NE Russell Road $2,075,000.00

 

Section 9. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $2,075,000.00 from funds approved to Account No. 00-809-080-7107-T above to satisfy the cost of Contract No. 7160 including contingencies.

 

Section 10. That upon completion of the final costs of this project, the Director of Finance is hereby directed to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
