ORDINANCE NO. 970428

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to renew a lease agreement between the City and Leeds Depot Ltd., for the first of a three, one year renewal at a rental rate of $10,200.00 per month for a 17 acre fenced, asphalt surfaced and lighted site located at 39th and Raytown Road (two separate lots, each approximately 8.5 acres each) and an additional 2.4 acres of land for KCPD hold lot, from August 1, 1996 to April 30, 1997 at a rate of $1,200.00 per month.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to execute, on behalf of the City, a lease agreement whereby the City leases from Leeds Depot Ltd., for the period of February 1, 1997 to April 30, 1997, for Lots A and B, and for a period from August 1, 1996 to April 30, 1997, for Lot C, approximately 19.4 acres of land, improved with perimeter fencing, asphaltic surfacing and security lighting, located on three sites (A and B lot approximately 8.5 acres separated by Raytown Road, and C lot behind A lot). The rental rate of $600.00 per acre on A and B lot and $500.00 per acre on C lot ($122,400.00 for A and B lots per year and $14,000.00 per year on C lot per year) for the first three renewal option years at the same rate. City may option to purchase property based on appraisal(s) after year one. City may provide modular type building on the east lot with lessor to pay for utility connections. The total rent of $41,400.00 for the above mentioned months to be paid from funds appropriated in Account No. 97-100-089-2050, to provide site of Public Works Tow-In Facility. A copy of the lease agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
