RESOLUTION NO. 011136

Congratulating the Edna E. Perry Real Estate Co. on its 30th anniversary.

WHEREAS, in 1970, Edna Perry, founded the Edna E. Perry Real Estate Co. after getting her real estate brokers license; and

WHEREAS, hard work has made Edna Perry a leader in the real estate industry. For thirty years, she has been recognized for her quality service and commitment to her community with a few of her accomplishments being that she was instrumental in getting Standard Oil Company to donate a building at 43rd and Cleveland to Flipper Memorial AME Church and also successfully implemented the sale of the Keliath Israel Synagogue for $1 million to Pentecostal Church of God in Christ; and

WHEREAS, Edna has served on many boards over the years with a few being the Mayors Corps of Progress Board of Directors, the Martin Luther King Hospital Board of Directors, the Housing Development Corporation and Information Center, the Advisory Board for Teenage Parent Center and the latest being selected for the Land Trust Commission whose purpose is to market and dispose of tax-foreclosed properties that do not sell at courthouse auctions; and

WHEREAS, Edna Perry is an outstanding person, a giant in the real estate arena and one of Kansas Citys authorities in real estate and housing; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulate the Edna E. Perry Real Estate Co. on its 30th anniversary; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to Edna Perry with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for the outstanding work she has done and the commitment she has made to the Kansas City area.
